Should I count calorie intake while fasting?

2022-08-022022-08-02

Many newcomers have the same question when they started intermittent fasting. But it’s not necessary to do strict calories counting.

There is no calories restriction when you’re doing intermittent fasting. Unlike the traditional diet, intermittent fasting does not involve calories counting.

Instead, fasting focuses on building an eating pattern to help you naturally reduce your calories intake and healthy eating habits with nutrient-dense food.

While fasting, focus on not overeating during your eating time, eating healthy and nutrient-dense foods to help you achieve the calories deficit.

I recommend you have a healthy balanced meal with the 50-25-25 diet, which means distributing 50% of your plate to vegetables or fruits, 25% of your plate to protein, and 25% of your plate to whole grains/cereals (carbs).
